This is the basic introductory course to astronomical science for
nonscience students. The course examines the development of astronomy
as a modern science. It provides a broad survey of astronomical
topics including the solar system, the Sun and stars, our Milky
Way galaxy, other galaxies, and introductory cosmology. It is taught
by a variety of astronomers based at the Institute for Astronomy.
