Slept late today but all were up for lunch. Discovered a possible glitch in the software of our instrument sled currently on the seafloor attached to the borehole observatory. We will reprogram the instrument (the in situ particle analyzer) tomorrow during the Alvin dive. We’ve been busy today getting ready for tomorrow’s dive (much of our time was devoted to figuring out the software issue, requesting advice from colleagues on shore, rearranging tomorrow’s dive priorities in discussions with our shipboard scientific colleagues and preparing our dive equipment.
