Manoa Open House and Hilo AstroDay 2008

On April 27, IfA Manoa held its annual Open House. There were fun  and educational activities for children and fact-filled lectures for adults.

On May 3, 12,000 people attended the seventh annual AstroDay in Hilo. Over 50 exhibits, demonstrations, and activity areas were featured throughout Prince Kuhio Plaza. 

AstroDay Excellence in Teaching Award

The AstroDay Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes Hawaii Island K-12 teachers and university professors whose creativity and enthusiasm engage students in science curricula in exciting and meaningful ways. This year's recipient is Shellea Maeda-Hata of Keaau Middle School (second from left).
