Fifth Annual Open House April 18

You are cordially invited to the Fifth Annual Institute for Astronomy Open House on Sunday, April 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at our Manoa headquarters. This family event will include tours of the facility, exhibits, scheduled lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and activities for all age groups. There will be telescope viewing and remote observing using one of the major telescopes on Mauna Kea. For the first time, an amateur telescope clinic will offer advice to individuals about purchasing, assembling, and using a telescope. Astronomers and graduate students will be there to answer your astronomy questions. Work being done at IfA Hilo and IfA Maui, as well as at IfA Manoa, will be highlighted. The focus will be on astronomy and its impact on our lives, community, and future.
