2004 Poster Calendar
For the second year in a row, the
Institute for Astronomy will send
poster calendars to public and private
schools throughout Hawaii. In addition,
the calendars will be the premium
offered to new and renewing members
of the Friends of Hawaii Astronomy
who have made their gifts within
the July 1 to December 31, 2003
period.
The stunning image of the Hawaii-Hubble
Deep Field North, taken by IfA student
Peter Capak with the Subaru Telescope,
shows a small part of the sky near
the Big Dipper. It includes over
1,000 stars and 40,000 galaxies,
including the some of the most distant
known.
